Here's a pair of the newly purchased AJ1 Golf Midnight Navy that I'd like to share with everyone today. First, let me give you some background: I'm 5'8" tall, weigh 163 pounds, and have wide feet. I usually wear size 43.
The material is the same as the OG versions I've bought before—full leather, which is very soft. Pressing lightly on the side creates wrinkles, but I think the leather on the OG Reverse Traffic Cone is still the best.
For the shoelaces, I recommend using white ones this time. The black ones just don't look as good.
In terms of comfort and shape, the insole isn't as good as the memory foam in the OG models, but it's better than most low-top versions (though it still can't change the fact that it's a stiff sneaker). Since the Golf and OG models are both slim and long, the fit is better than the regular AJ1 or Dunk models. The shape also looks longer visually.
As for grip, being part of the Golf series, I have to mention the outsole. It's quite unique. This is my first Golf shoe, so I tested it on wooden and tiled floors, and the grip is excellent. There's no squeaking sound either. I'll try it on grass when I have the chance.
In summary, the full leather is breathable and better than synthetic materials. The Golf lining feels a bit thicker than usual, so I wouldn't recommend wearing it in summer unless you're playing golf. The sizing is accurate—if you wear a certain size in Nike, you'll wear the same size here. The leather is easy to maintain, but wrinkles are inevitable and will appear after just one wear. Don't use shoe horns, as the slim toe box can be uncomfortable. The leather is soft, but it might crack over time, depending on how you wear them. Overall, the shoe is great value, and I highly recommend it.
