The Kobe 4 Protro "Black Mamba" in the Black Mamba style is really nice, and the craftsmanship is pretty good. I've been wearing these shoes for a few days now, and personally, they feel great. The forefoot is very close to the ground, and the upper wraps around the foot perfectly. The heel's firm structure feels stable, and the laces don't come undone easily. The heel's air cushion feels soft and bouncy when you step in. The upper is a bit low, so it might press on the top of your foot; I'd recommend going half a size up.
The cushioning is sufficient, making it a great choice for lighter individuals, but it's also a solid option for heavier folks. The midsole setup includes Lunar foam in the forefoot, a Zoom air unit in the heel, and a carbon fiber shank in the midfoot. The overall weight is slightly heavier compared to other versions. Due to the upper design, there's no Flywire.
The tongue is fixed, so it doesn't wobble side to side. The heel has extra padding, which improves comfort. The outsole is made of black snake-patterned rubber, which feels quite soft to the touch. The matte leather on the upper feels very premium, and the snake-scale pattern leather on the toe and Swoosh adds some visual interest, making the overall look less monotonous. The glossy TPU with Kobe's signature on the heel really boosts the overall aesthetics. The number 24 is also printed on the heel. However, the upper does tend to attract a lot of dust.
Compared to the "GIRL DAD" colorway, this Kobe has much better craftsmanship, and the current price isn't too inflated, so it's a decent value for the money. If you have any questions, feel free to drop them in the comments.
